Barbara was first introduced to photography and the artistic offerings of the darkroom during her senior year of high school. As a graduation gift she received a Pentax K-1000, which became her traveling companion for years to come.

Barbara continued to take photography classes in college. She received an Associates Degree in Graphic Communications Design followed by a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Florida.

She began her marketing career in the airline industry. With a passion for travel and Pentax in hand Barbara photographed people and places around the world. Her love for photography continued to grow and in 2003 she created Barbara Allen Photography.

Barbara has embraced the digital creative possibilities with both camera and computer. She continues her pursuit of excellence through her memberships in the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Professional Photographers of America, workshops and professional seminars. Enjoying the collaborative process, Barbara works with a variety of professionals including Unsworth Photography on many assignments.
